A United Nations camp for displaced people in South Sudan has been described as a “time bomb” due to the dire humanitarian situation there.

Around 200,000 people who have fled their homes across the country, as a result of ongoing political violence, are living in the Malakal camp.

Ninety per cent are women and children.

The UN mission in South Sudan, UNMISS, is currently preparing the camp ahead of the rainy season.
