“Justice for All” in the Caribbean to combat HIV/AIDS

The Caribbean is the first region in the world expected to eliminate mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS.

Edward Greene, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for AIDS in the Caribbean, highlighted this success during his last visit to UN Headquarters.

However, he noted that Haiti is the region’s “major hiccup”, with 100 deaths due to mother-to-child transmissions last year.

Stephanie Coutrix spoke with Edward Greene about initiatives in the Caribbean, including the “Justice for All” programme, that support marginalized groups in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
