Women’s equal rights means everyone wins: UN Women official

7 March 2014

The number of women who die in childbirth or pregnancy is still unacceptably high in Tanzania.

That’s what Anna Collins-Falk, UN Women Representative in Tanzania said in an interview for International Womens’ Day.

Meanwhile, early marriage and teenage pregnancy is very prevalent in the country, she adds.

Her organization, UN Women, the global body in charge of promoting gender equality, women’s rights and women’s empowerment is working with the Government and its partners to overcome these challenges.

Womens’ rights, Ms. Collins-Falk explains to Stella Vuzo, does not mean men lose their power. It means everyone wins.
