The international community must act on evidence of widespread crimes against humanity in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), according to a UN Commission of Inquiry.

A panel of experts mandated by the UN Human Rights council said North Koreans had experienced “great suffering and unspeakable atrocities” in prison camps and those accused must face justice.

DPRK refused to co-operate with the panel and rejected the report's conclusions.

From Geneva Claire Doole reports.
