Countries around the world are being urged to change the negative stereotypes of women which persist in male-dominated cultures.

The call has come from a member of the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) which is currently holding its 57th session in Geneva.

The session is reviewing reports from seven countries on their progress on ending all political, economic, social and cultural forms of discrimination against women.

Patrick Maigua asked Dubravka Šimonović a Committee member from Croatia, about the main forms of discrimination that are being examined.
