Up to 50,000 children in Mali may die of malnutrition this year if they don’t receive enough food on time.

This warning has come from the top United Nations humanitarian official in the country.

Aid agencies in Mali say there are high levels of malnutrition in the country, which is recovering from a conflict with Al-Qaeda linked fighters.

The UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Mali, David Gressely, tells UN Radio’s Patrick Maigua that relief workers continue to face challenges as they help the people in need.
