Healthcare services for indigenous people are often provided by professionals who know little about these cultures which could result in feelings of mistrust and discrimination.

That’s according to Krysta Williams, an indigenous woman from the First Nations in Canada, who participated in a recent UN meeting on Indigenous Peoples’ Sexual Health and Reproductive Rights.

She tells Daniel Dickinson how indigenous youth are spearheading dialogue in their communities around issues related to their sexual health.
