Ongoing political instability and fighting could lead to widespread food insecurity and malnutrition in South Sudan.

The conflict has not only caused the loss of life and displacement of people, it has also disrupted agricultural development in at least four of the country’s ten states.

The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is looking at ways of ensuring that an already precarious food situation does not deteriorate further.

Sandra Ferrari asked the head of FAO’s Emergency Response Team, Daniele Donati how the organization was responding.
