Palestinian refugees sheltering in a camp situated in Syria are living in what has been described as “unimaginably harsh” conditions.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, says much of the Yarmouk camp has been destroyed by the ongoing civil war in Syria.

18,000 Palestinians still live in Yarmouk, down from 160,000 before the conflict broke out.

UNWRA says it is becoming increasingly difficult to deliver aid to the camp which is located just south of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Chris Gunness is a spokesperson for UNWRA.

Patrick Maigua asked him about the current situation at the camp.
