An independent expert on the human rights situation in Cambodia is concerned that a political impasse stemming from last year’s elections is having a detrimental impact on peace and prosperity.

UN Special Rapporteur Surya Subedi has concluded his latest mission to the country where he met with Prime Minister Hun Sen, opposition representatives and members of civil society.

He talks to Dianne Penn about some of the issues he raised, including concerns related to the deadly crackdown on protesting garment workers earlier this month.
