My World is a United Nations worldwide survey launched in March this year to allow citizens from all over the world to vote on issues they believe are priorities that leaders should address.

Zoleka Mandela, a granddaughter of former South African President Nelson Mandela, is one of the more than 1.1 million people from 194 countries who have participated in the survey.

Ms. Mandela was at the United Nations recently to take part in a My World event to recognize people who have had an impact on other people’s lives.

UN Radio’s Derrick Mbatha caught up with Ms. Mandela, who is spearheading a road safety campaign in South Africa, to find out what prompted her to work on this issue.
