The International Organization for Migration (IOM) says it is planning to take a lead in helping thousands of undocumented migrants expelled from Tanzania.

A Tanzanian presidential order issued on 25 July told some 35,000 irregular migrants from Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi to leave Tanzania by 11 August.

The agency is discussing with its counterparts in these countries on how to help the migrants who include vulnerable people such as pregnant women, unaccompanied minors and persons with disabilities.

To find out more about this, UN Radio’s Patrick Maigua sat down with IOM Spokesperson in Geneva, Jumbe Omari Jumbe.
