The situation remains dire for children in Syria and the surrounding countries, says Leila Zerrougi, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict.
Some 7,000 children under the age of 15 have been killed during the country’s more than two-year-old conflict.
Ms. Zerrougi recently completed a trip to Syria and the surrounding refugee-receiving countries – Turkey, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon.
UN Radio’s Gerry Adams sat down with Ms. Zerrougi who warned that the situation in Syria is dire.
