The UN children’s agency UNICEF is calling for the inclusion of children with disabilities in discussions and decisions about development.

In a report launched on Thursday, the agency says concentrating on the abilities and potential of children with disabilities would benefit society as a whole.

UNICEF’s annual State of the World’s Children’s report calls for more efforts to support integration of children with disabilities and tackle the discrimination that marginalizes them.

UN Radio’s Derrick Mbatha asked Dr. Paula Hunt, a UNICEF consultant based in Geneva, why this year’s report is focusing on children with disabilities.
