Share your unique vision of forests – that was the call from the UN Forum on Forests - to visually capture the significant, extraordinary and unique connection of people and forests.

Pablo Pro Alvarez from Spain, who specializes in films and documentaries on nature and social issues, did just that.

His photograph called "Sleeping Beauty" is one of the winners of the International Forest Photograph Award. He describes the photo as the synthesis of what he learned living with a community in the north of Colombia for a month.
