UN observers visit Syrian village following deadly attack

UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan on Tuesday met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the ongoing crisis in Syria.

Meanwhile, the UN Supervision Mission in Syria (UNSMIS) says army defectors and activists reportedly had been targeted in the recent deadly attack on the village of Treimseh.

That assessment is based on witness accounts and what the monitors saw during a visit to the village over the weekend.
