Several UN agencies are joining together to try a new approach to fight hunger in children.
The World Food Programme (WFP), the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) say their ‘REACH’ Initiative offers practical and effective approaches to reducing under-nutrition in the most heavily burdened countries.
WFP spokesperson Bettina Luescher says the whole idea of the “REACH” initiative is to share knowledge, come up with solutions and do it in an “unbureaucratic way”.
Julie Walker discussed the ‘REACH’ Initiative with Ms. Luescher.
