Scaling up prevention measures against pneumonia and diarrhoea could save the lives of more than two million children a year, according to a new report from the UN children’s fund (UNICEF).

UNICEF believes these children could have a shot at survival through increased commitment, attention and funding to fight these diseases, the two major killers of children under five years old.

She says sub-Saharan Africa and south-east Asia are the areas of most concern.
