The killing of more than 100 people in the Syrian village of El-Houleh on Friday has drawn international condemnation and outrage.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said the incident may mount to crimes against humanity or other forms of international crime.

Following emergency closed door consultations on Sunday, the UN Security Council issued a statement calling the attack a violation of the government’s commitments to cease violence in all its forms.
